Canada pays some of the highest wireless prices in the developed world, and this summer the Big Three found a new gear. A $15 fee for a SIM card. $40 to "set up" a phone you set up yourself in the parking lot. A five-dollar "rate adjustment" appearing on July bills.
The CRTC has opened a formal inquiry, saying these fees appear to violate consumer-protection rules. The public comment window closes July 30.
We demand the CRTC strike down every one of these reinvented junk fees and require all-in pricing on every wireless plan sold in Canada.
