A growing trend has accounts imitating creators who have passed away, borrowing their voices, their formats, their communities, and monetizing the imitation. Friends, families, and fellow creators have publicly begged platforms to act. The policies haven't moved.
This petition targets no individual. It targets the rules: platforms currently protect living public figures from monetized impersonation far better than they protect the dead.
We demand YouTube and other platforms adopt an explicit policy: no monetization of accounts impersonating deceased creators, expedited takedown when estates or documented friends and family object, and a memorial-protection status for creators' channels.
A person's name should not become an open franchise the day they can no longer answer.
